Marine Operations Supervisor – Essex Junction, Vermont
Job Description:
Vermont State Parks is seeking a diversely qualified and dynamic person to fill a year-round, fast-paced position directly overseeing the operations and supervision of four state park locations in northwestern Vermont, the 100 slip Burton Island Marina, and the Island Runner Passenger Ferry.
Through collaboration with a dedicated maintenance and regional management team, this role would assist with hiring and supervising a seasonal work force, leading and creating trainings, analyzing and supporting maintenance and operations, providing recommendations on facility and marine fleet planning, and participating in high level policy development. A track record of clear written and verbal communication is essential for this position.
Work is often independent and field-based. This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule and significant telework in the winter months, though frequent site visits and in-person staff collaboration are the expectation during the park operating season.
Substantial daily travel is necessary; a work vehicle is provided for official business.

Job Requirements:
Possession of a valid Operator's License.
Possession of, or eligible to obtain a valid USCG 50 ton Master License or greater.
Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Vermont Boaters' Safety License.
NOTE: A Vermont Operator's License and a Vermont Boaters' Safety License must be obtained within 90 days of hire as a condition of employment. US Coast Guard 50 ton Master License or greater must be obtained within 180 days of hire as a condition of employment.
