POSITION SUMMARY
Northeast Wisconsin Technical College is an innovative leading-edge college dedicated to student success. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for developing and delivering customized training required to construct a naval vessel.
• Provide Welding, Shipfitting, Pipefitting, and Outfitting training which is customized to meet the needs of a marine manufacturing organization in a flexible work-based environment on/or off campus.
• Manage the instructional process and associated curriculum review and development, and student advising within the area of training.
• Train courses on Basic Hull Construction and Blueprint Reading (Cutting, Visual Inspection, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW), Welding, Shipfitting, Pipefitting/Brazing, Outfitting, Metal Fabrication, and Metallurgy, Rigging Systems, and related Math.
• Respond to emergency situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
• Responsible for developing and delivering customized training required to work within a naval vessel.
• Assignments for this position are specifically located at Marinette unless customer needs require training at other locations.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
• Develop and continually revise curriculum that includes multicultural perspectives, core abilities, and technical content to meet industry or regulatory standards to prepare graduates for successful careers.

• Develop, support, participate and collaborate with other departments on student recruitment, program marketing, and referral of students as needed for student success strategies including tutoring, counseling, advising, etc.
• Use data to measure quality outcomes related to student persistence, retention, completion rate, course success, and to design improvement strategies based on the evidence.
• Comply with College policies and practices related to instruction, assessment, and delivery.
• Engage with business and industry through engagement and participation in advisory committees, including the recruitment of new members, planning of meetings, participation in community groups, and business visits.
• Participate in community and college-sponsored events to promote the college’s programs and enhance community relationships.
• Engage in division, department and team meetings and requirements including the development and completion of the college’s strategic planning through team action plans and budget requests
• Maintain proficient knowledge and skill in emerging trends and current occupational practices by networking with regional industry leaders and participating in continuing education and professional development.
• Assist in the development of adjunct faculty through communication, sharing of resources, coaching and mentoring.
Job Requirements:
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Minimum of a technical diploma and three years successful direct occupational experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience required.
Must pass Practical Welding Testing

Certification: Trainers are encouraged to obtain and maintain Wisconsin Technical College System certification.
Recognized Welding Certifications preferred, such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), Certified Welding Educator (CWE), and ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level 3.
Other Requirements
• Knowledge and familiarity of ABS American Bureau of Rules: Steel Vessel Rules, Rules of Building and Classing Aluminum Vessels, Guide for Building and Classing High Speed Naval Craft preferred.
• Knowledge of ship and shipyard terminology required.
• Knowledge of and familiarity with Naval Fabrication Documents-shipfitter, ABS Surface Ship, Workmanship documents (company specific), and Mil-Std 248 preferred.
• Manage classroom and shop/lab by performing preventative maintenance on all equipment. This includes updating guards and safety modifications per OSHA regulations which ensure a productive and safe learning environment, and management of materials and consumables.
• Must be able to weld out of position and run mechanized welding equipment.
• Ability to weld in the following processes: SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and Brazing.
• Ability to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends.
• Previous teaching experience with adult learners is desired.
• Ability to assist students with a variety of technical course material in an open, self-directed, trainer assisted manufacturing technology environment.
• Ability to certify in visual testing (VT).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
