Third Mate / Licensed Deck Officer – Shipboard – U.S. Great Lakes Fleet
Job Description:
The Interlake Steamship Company is seeking a licensed Third Mate / Deck Officer to sail aboard our U.S.-flagged Great Lakes fleet. Deck Officers are responsible for safe vessel navigation, watchstanding, cargo operations, regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness, and supporting a strong onboard safety culture. Officers receive room and board while aboard, along with paid vacation, pension, medical, and education benefits through M.E.B.A.
Job Requirements:
Valid U.S. Coast Guard Third Mate license and First Class Pilot endorsement of Any Gross Tons upon the Great Lakes between Duluth, Gary, and Buffalo; valid Unlimited Radar Observer endorsement; FCC Marine Radio Operator Permit; valid TWIC; current USCG physical examination; current DOT drug screen in accordance with NIDA standards; and proof of U.S. citizenship.
