Duties and Responsibilities
To ensure all activities of the CSL vessel for which the Second Engineer serves are carried out under effective Safety Management System policies and procedures.

To ensure that their areas of responsibility on the ship, including; maintenance, engineering, ballasting, oil handling operations, hull and equipment are in accordance with the Transport Canada Regulations, codes of practice or standards that may be applicable to the operation of the vessel; this duties and responsibilities description defines the expectations of CSL with respect to the Second Engineer.
